El Mirador RV Park

Travelling to El Mirador RV first week in January

When going South thru Navajoa, is best to go straight thru the city or go around the West bypass at Sam's Club??
  • Do not take the road East when leaving back to where you are just South of the toll booth on 15. We did it last week and it is worst than a dirt road. HUGE potholes (some so large they went from side to side of the road surface) and had to drive on the shoulder at times. Local Police gave us an escort trying to guide us thu but it was horrible. Go back to Navajoa to get back on 15 and continue South. Saying there is a paved road to leave on is an overstatement. We drove 7 miles on BLM dirt road this last summer in Utah's San Rafael Swell and that was like a freeway compared to this road. We have stayed there many times. Only one other MH when we arrived where as in the past the whole front row was filled. Spoke to the owners about the road and nothing they can do, the farm trucks have beat the roads to death. Even the other roads to the park are bad but weaving from side to side you can make your way thu. Good luck!

  • Not that one, but the "truck by pass" for Navajoa is easy. Heading south, just after the bridge is a sign for heavy traffic pointing left. The road runs parallel to the main drag through town, only one block east. It is in OK shape, and only has one single stop sign on it. Easy,we've been using it for years.
  • Both Perifericos are reported as being in poor condition.
So going through The City Center is easier on the rig.

I have been told that there is a way to bypass Navajoa entirely by going South somewhere South of Obregon on a secondary Highway ,perhaps through Bacobampo!

Maybe someone has more information on that route!
