I am curious, what are the odds of getting sick from the mexican water or getting shot by the drug guys.
Well... I have been sick three times on trips to Mexico but haven't been shot yet. I would say that the odds are at least 4:1 in favor of getting sick versus getting shot.
Sick 3 times.
Why would want to return?
I have been sick more than a dozen times where I live now. Should I move?
I have been going to Mexico periodically for 30years. 3 occurrences of gastric distress is not intolerable for me.
Point well taken. I am just trying, for the life of me, to understand the attraction to the country.
I have asked before, received good answers, but I'm old and I forget.
Please do not misunderstand, I am NOT knocking the country, or Rvers that want to go there. I just don't "get it."
I used to think because Mexico was inexpensive, but another thread about site costs, tell me that the cost is no less than a carefully chosen site in Florida.
I understand that medical care is much less.
No worries.
I love the people, the culture, the food, the history, the beaches.
I enjoy spending time experiencing different cultures, people & scenery. Mexico is the nearest destination to me that allows that opportunity.
I enjoy Florida as well. Good beaches, weather almost as warm as Mexico in the winter. The only place I can find a good Cuban sandwich :)
As far as "cheap" goes: I am not a "tightwad" of any sort but I do feel very strongly about being a good steward of my finances. I can vacation significantly cheaper in Mexico if I don't try to "Americanize" my visit. I love tacos from the street vendors etc.
