Ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles US Security Check

Does the US Boarder security checkat the Victoria terminal take the place of going through the US Customs check in Port Angeles for US citizens? The Black Ball Ferry site says to arrive at the termina...

Just returned from Victoria. Had my class c. They asked for my pasport, asked a couple questions and that was it. I was ready for more but that was it. It was a little let down but I can't complain. I didn't have a resavation so I arrived at 6:30 and they made me wait till 7:30 ferry. Not nice. I spent the day at clover point park.
