In Alaska one license will be good state wide and on the salt water.
Fishing the lakes will work with your fishing rig. No pan fish and mostly trout in the lakes. Some may have northern Pike. As your traveling check with the locals as to the rigging they are using and what they are catching.
Fishing for Salmon may require a heavier rig then you have. Fish 6 to 12lbs., fast current and needing some heft to horse them in when your in a combat situation. I use a 9' medium rod with 30lb braided line, open faced reel. Fishing the Kenai you can buy rigs from Trustworthy in Soldotna and they can rig you up.
Salt water, you will need to go out with a charter and they have everything you need on board.
