Is not being able to hit the viewing areas something that will greatly detract from the trip? This will be our first RV trip so I really don't know.

For the most part you probably will not have a problem. I know some of the parking areas in Yellowstone, and other places, are fairly small, but most will have spaces for the C as they expect RV traffic. If you are going during prime travel season, mid June thru mid August, the problem of finding parking will be worse of course. May take some patience waiting for a place to park without blocking everyone else. Many of the parking areas have long pull thru parking places for RVs, but if empty, cars will stack into them blocking any chance for an RV. But there are things to see that you just do not want to miss when going to those areas.
