Flying J travel centers

Good Sam info states just use your card at the pump to receive discount on your gas. NOT TRUE! Stopped in Pearl,Ms the other day. Pump would not accept card nor my debit card---had to go inside and prepay (guessing how many gallons I needed). The girl gave me cash out of the drawer for the 3 cent discount per gallon. In Amarillo, the pump again would not take my card. It also cut off at $75; but I made sure the clerk discounted my ticket. In Winslow,Az at another Flying J, I had to go inside and give her my card before pumping gas. She did give me my discount on the ticket. I WILL USE LOVE'S, PILOT OR ANYONE ELSE SINCE FLYING J & GOOD SAM CAN'T SEEM TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER------NOT RV FRIENDLY.

  • Never had a problem at the truck diesel pumps or the rv pumps in the "car" area, and get the discount every time. Done all the states west of the Mississippi plus FL, SC, GA, LA, MS, OK.
  • Funny, my RV Plus Charge card works at the truck pumps as well as the auto pumps. I can pump as much as I want and never set foot in the store
  • We've never had a problem using our card except when we use the diesel lanes. The pumps there are not programmed to accept it. We have to go inside, estimate how much we will spend and then go back and pump it, then go back inside for a receipt. PITA! We did find one Pilot station that had 2 lanes marked "RV diesel" in the truck diesel area and those 2 pumps accepted our card. One time we didn't get the discount and I called corporate headquarters and they gave me a credit on my bill and promised to better train the cashier. Very good service at corporate. And one other thing. One station we stopped at in Montana didn't even accept the card. It was a joint venture?? I think you have to spend a certain amount before the card will allow you to turn on the pump and for fueling over the pump limit amount. Seems like I read that on the website.
