I'm anxious to see if the mass influx of foreign gasolineras reduces pressure on Mexican refinery output so they can be rebuilt. The next president of Mexico is adamant about having new Modern Refineries. Mexico is trading regular diesel for use in USA ships for UBA to be sold in Pemex gasolineras.

Not at all. Fracking occurs from 6,000-15,000+ feet in depth. Groundwater averages 500 feet in depth.

Yep that's accurate info. We po-foke need accurate information so we can plan accordingly. I got suckered into a '97 trip by no-bad-days promoters and had to cut a 2-week trip down to 3-days. And a round trip bus ride from Tecate. It left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I live here and love it. But I refuse to say things like "Oh we found the truck and 3-axle trailer tolls to be very reasonable from Nogales to Tecoman" Tell folks where to find the toll rates.

A few years ago someone got postal when I explained that drunk drivers forfeit insurance coverage for themselves. Or that meticulously thorough roadside retenes are to to expected along the southern Pacific coast. You will see this around Petlatlan on your way to Acapulco. How to not even break a sweat. Mexico is a place to enjoy not to endure an unpleasant vertical learning curve.

I run into crooked cops. Rather than let it ruin my day-week-month I know how to play with them and leave the episode laughing my butt off. Shortcuts, tips, and it's all legal and ethical. I thrive in Tierra Caliente, supposedly one of the most hazardous area of the country.

If people need their arm twisted to come down and refuse to even think about joining a caravan then perhaps their decision is a wise one.

I get bummed-out when I am forced to return to the USA. I tell Eduardo we are not going to eat syntho-road-burgers on the other side and pack pollo al carbon estilo sinolaense, some fajitas, and Penafiel. After specialist medical treatment we hit the stores and snag what is not easy to find. When we re-cross I let out a big breath of air.

And regardless of price I do not purchase 85% gasoline in the USA.

The price of gasoline in California is almost exactly the same as Mexico and going up rapidly. We are selling our vehicles in California and can't wait to return to Mexico and stay forever.

I guess I am confused about the purpose of this forum. It's always the downside of Mexico.

It certainly doesn't do much to promote rving in Mexico.

I can only hope their suppliers can put pressure on the owners to maintain "Litros Completos"


Sempra is creating a ONE MILLION BARREL tank farm near Ensenada Baja. Hopefully this will help to get extraneous fuel to points south. Means UBA diesel and correctly refined Magna.

Chevron has a few stations in HMO.

Foreign stations were abundant in Queretaro last month but I saw none in Sinaloa, Durango, and states north of DF. Last year we saw some being built in PV.

A quick note on the foreign gasoline

Banners are advertising the same gasoline additive trade names as appear in the USA. Chevron has Techron. BP has EC2. It may be a sure bet to believe that the government will insist that the use of MBTE be continued in winter smoggy areas.

I am going to guess that foreign stations have not penetrated that far south down Sonora and into Sinaloa. Perhaps down the bajio through Mex City yes. Acapulco? Yucatan?
