- HeisenbergExplorerIf you end up on US 84 west of Lubbock there is free camping in Littlefield TX and Muleshoe TX. Hookups included! The Mexican Food at Leal's in Muleshoe is as good as it gets. Good luck.
- TyroneandGladysExplorerDancing Eagle Casino RV park in NM is not free but $10.00 with hookups is cheaper than running your generator for 8 hours.
- tonyandkarenExplorerYou shouldn't have a problem finding free spots along that route. I'm kind of a map geek so I use Google maps to keep track of everything. Here's my boondocking map - https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=210711839070103512786.0004e039a19ec37a6a084&msa=0&ll=38.203655,-103.183594&spn=41.467188,63.720703
It's missing a lot of stuff because I just made it last year but most of your route is covered. Freecampgrounds.net - http://freecampsites.net/usa/ should fill in the gaps.
Have a good trip! - crabbin_cabinExplorer IILots of low cost places but we always support those cgs that support our life style!
- ALBQExplorerGoing through New Mexico(and Albuquerque) you can stop at any Walmart. I see RVs there almost daily. Also All the Casinos have free parking. (Example- Sandia Casino-Albuquerque-About 5 miles north of I-40 on I-25.
Check:http://www.casinocamper.com/ - mikeleblanc413ExplorerThank You tonyandkaren...while my route is not written in stone...I am planning from Santa Fe to Taos to Four Corners to The Grand Canyon and from there to Las Vegas....from there up to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and on to Glacier National Park. Any FREEBIES along that route are most helpful.
- bob_nestorExplorer IIIYou can always try Boondockers Welcome too.
- Captain_HappyExplorerThere's also a web site called FreeCampgrounds.com. Free or low cost campgrounds in every state.
- lane_hogExplorer IIThere's no shortage of Walmarts who allow overnighters along the two ways which look reasonable i.e. via El Paso or Amarillo.. Just plan ahead once you get into NM because they start being more spread out...
- darsbenExplorer IIdo you plan to go up to I40 or stay on back roads? Like US 60
