fridge contents

We will be heading to Puerto Penasco at the end of January. I've read the guidelines posted as a sticky here - thank you all for those. And I've read some of the recent posts about what you can take, but they seemed to dwell on pet food.

So, my wife likes to stock our freezer with homemade stuff, casseroles, etc. And we usually have some canned human food. Will those be a problem? I've read the warnings not to bring fresh fruit, fresh meat, etc., but wondering about homemade stuff in the freezer.

    We occasionally get gone through at that border crossing, but honestly, if you tell them what it is, COOKED whatever, they don't usually care. Call it what it is: tuna casserole, lasagna, beef bake, whatever.

    Canned food is no issue.

    I hate being difficult at the border, but if they want something that is technically fine under the law, I'll protest a bit.

    Do remember that part of visiting a foreign country is exploring their food and ingredients and cooking with them!
