Another option if you're just in your pickup is to take CO 133 to Gunnison CR 12 (over Kebler Pass) to Crested Butte and then south to Gunnison. Or reverse the route to head back to GWS. Gives you different scenery on your round trip. CR 12 is a graded gravel road and not open in the winter. About the same drive time as using CO 92 but saves 40 miles.
