Taking a trip from the LA area to Las Cruces, NM, this January. Does anybody have ideas for stops along the way? Any ideas for alternative routes, stops? Does it get very cold so far south? I've never taken this trip into NM before so I'm clueless. Thanks!
Driving through in January? Brrr. It can get chilly that far south, especially at night. Definitely pack layers.As for stops... depends on what you're into! If you like quirky roadside stuff, check out some of the smaller towns along I-40, you'll find some cool diners and maybe even some old-timey motels.
