We just did the opposite since Wed. We have traveled from Cheyenne to Lincoln,NE. on I-80 and there were lots of fuel stops avail. The same is true for the run from I-80 up I-25. I am running about 10mpg and fill up with about 25 gal. every 250-275 miles leaving me with a 9 gal. spare in tank. On I-80 there was about 5 construction zones with speed limits down to 55mph, but were not super long. I had a head wind of up to 25mph while east bound. The road is busy, but not crowded. I run at 65mph and let every body else run the 75 speed limit or as fast as they want. There were even trucks running slower than me so i just passed them. I do not let traffic bother me. If you have the time stop the Gateway Arch that goes over I-80 at Kearney,NE. Well worth your time. We did it this morning as we left Kearney.
