Fuel Prices

Withe crash in oil prices has the price dropped or is pemex still hiking it regularly? If so it must be more expensive than Arizona by now.

  • Paid 2.74 for reg, today, in Chatt. Tn. Could have paid 2.71, at Wallmart, with card. IT IS much cheaper, in places around the Country.
After NOV elections, I'M SURE IT WILL BE HIGHER.
  • Here are a couple of the normal sources for checking fuel prices in Mexico. Prices have been going up the legal limit of 11 centavos per month for several years. These prices are not exactly current and the US price is based on fluctuating exchange rate. You can get an idea of where the prices might be today on these websites or by searching the internet.

Noticeable and annoying decrease in fuel mileage with the US gasoline, because of the alcohol. I refueled just a few hours ago to get the effect of Techron. Baja California the northern peninsula state has refined in USA Magna regular gasoline with zero alcohol. Mexico prohibits alcohol but instead still allows MTBE in high smog areas. Cities.

When I cross into Baja California Sur I switch to made in USA premium, which all premium in Mexico is made in USA Baja California MAGNA is refined in Mexico.

With the 13% decrease in fuel mileage I don't know if the lower USA prices are worth the gas mileage decrease I experience. Outside of Baja California, the price jump from non California prices (always lower elsewhere) to made in Mexico PREMIUM makes the decision more difficult.

Need a freakin' computer to keep all this straight. I am cursed with a V6 Mitsubishi engine which HATES made in Mexico MAGNA. Many cars drink it without a hiccup. Mine throws a hissy fit after a few hundred miles. This does not happen with the premium.

Like in Mexico, gasoline has become a cash cow (both for speculators and for government revenue in the USA). How is a person supposed to change that?

I loved it Labastida finally knew he was going to lose to Vicente Fox and came on TV and declared "If I Am Elected I Will Slash Gasoline Prices Thirty Percent". Of course he and the PRI lost.

There are more hoglets sucking on the PEMEX teat than a person can shake a stick at. IMHO it isn't going to change.

Mexico (DF) is as disconnected from reality as is Washington DC.

Yes this is a sore point with me. The fats cats on both sides of the line are sucking the blood of the poor.

And woowee, the USA is exporting crude to China like there is no tomorrow. Love it. Greed. What a role model for drug addled youth who don't care how many times they are arrested. Enough.
  • Fuel in San Antonio today is as low as 2.99. But what makes people think it will stay that way based on the history of U.S. fuel prices? Mexican fuel is high and for many reasons. It's not just because they can.
  • I just filled up with diesel at a Wal-Mart this morning in the Texas panhandle for $3.41. Happy happy happy! (and surprised)
  • fuel has been more expensive in Mexico than US (southern AZ) since early spring. Fill up before you cross the border.

Regular unleaded gas in Tucson was $ 2.99 this morning.

I feel sorry for the working class Mexican people. Gas prices are of little consequence to tourists who can afford to pay
  • Odd thing about crude oil pricing. If the price of crude ( barrel ) goes up by 25 cents, you usually see a price jump at your gas station in a few day's. Now that it is going down, have we really seen a big drop? As stated, they can charge what they want, anytime they want.
  • guy on the stock market just laughed, said it,ll last about a month, then there gonna bleed us to death, 2015 price is quoted as over $4.00 PER GAL, why??? CUSS THEY CAN. NO JOKE THIS WAS WENSDAY WAS WATCHING tv.
