Gary go Boom, update

After 8 weeks of being cast in a production of 'Broken Tibia at Ankle' I am now a cast-off. Still relegated to a non-participatory role. Poor me...no raking the gravel out of from the front lawn. I can begin some stationary cycling at the physio lab, but no weight on the leg/ankle for at least another 4 weeks, then a gradual work-up.

I finally got the RV home and it resides in the drive-way. For all the good THAT does me. No,I didn't drive it.

I'll be staying north this summer, so with any luck at all, I'll see some of you as you roll thru Terrace/Rupert or Kitwanga or perhaps up in Dease Lake.

If anyone heading up or down is needing some insights...gimme a holler.

  • Hi Gary,

Congrats on having your leg "liberated". I was very happy to be free.

Hang in there! What a relief to get that cast off -- please don't ask me how I know this. The other thing that I have learned from my various sports injuries is that it sometimes helps the healing process to have the area carefully and properly massaged to promote bone growth.

You are right. I am a practitioner one of those 'New Age' things..Therapeutic Touch'..do it and teach it, plus I practice daily Mediation. I taught the TT to Sharon and she has been doing that with me every night pretty much since day one. Between those two things..it keeps me calm and clear and the TT is wonderful for relaxing the areas and promoting the healing.

I did a bit of on-line researching on healing and one of the biggest hurdles is physiological. If a person is in a good place with it all, then the process is much more successful than if one depressed or angry, etc. I won't say that I am super happy I got hurt, however, I am blessed in many ways and very grateful.

  • Sometimes, the healing process is the hardest! Sounds like you are heeding the Dr.s advice, which is a good thing eh. Enjoy your summer.
