That looks like the same cast I am currently wearing after breaking my right tibia at the ankle 12.5 weeks ago. When the doctors say stay off it, do that! I did not comply very well for the first 4 weeks (could stand a bit on the cast and it didn't hurt and it made things so much more convenient (no nurse at my house)); X-ray at 4 week mark showed that the break had enlarged. The doctor and I chose not to do surgery; medical literature shows that conservative treatment of a break like mine is usually just as effective as surgery.
My HMO provided a wheelchair and I bought a knee scooter; between the two of these I can get around fairly well without weight on the foot. Still, some days I get really cranky from cabin fever.
Hopefully with time and good care, you and I will both be back RV'ing soon.
