Taking solo trips may be the reason she is happily married. I describe myself as being happily married, but over the years, I have taken many trips/vacations with women. My husband did not like to hike or camp and doing those things was the only way I could enjoy the Grand Canyon, Wild and Scenic Rivers of New Mexico and other such places. In retirement, after purchasing our travel trailer, he wants to be on the road more than I prefer.
On Wednesday, June 4, we will leave for a 3-4 month trip to Alaska (third time) and every Thanksgiving, we go to Florida for 3-4 weeks. Last year we spent two months in the western states, including day hikes of the Grand Canyon. Now my husband wants to go back and hike to Phantom Ranch for a couple of nights. My point is that sometimes people like to travel solo and sometimes people who thought they wouldn't like something later find out they do.
Good point. I guess I had thought she was full-time. When my husband was living I sometimes took RV trips on my own because he didn't want to go (especially to family reunions and visiting relatives).
