- RVhikerExplorerTo get to 67 you would take 170 from the west end of Big Bend National Park. 170 is a very scenic route along some of the way; it is high above the river and allows some beautiful scenery. Be aware that some of the road grades are very, very steep; the road is rather narrow at some turns but I've driven it with my 30 foot fiver and it was OK. 170 passes through Big Bend Ranch State Park, which is just as beautiful and even more rugged than Big Bend National Park; this state park deserves several days to explore if you have time; a short but very nice hike is Closed Canyon; the hike takes an hour at most. It also passes by Fort Leaton State Park, which is worth a stop.
