Headed to Alaska?..Highway 97 OPEN
Pine Pass, north of Prince George is closed due to flooding. They have no idea when it will re-open, so..if you are heading for Alaska, hang a left at PG and head for Kitwanga and #37.

- We are leaving Prince George tomorrow and have decided to go up the Stewart Cassia route a come back via highway 97, a reverse of our original plans. Hopefully by the time we come Bach the road will be in better shape.

- We took the Hinton, Grand cache road yesterday. No problem really but some construction north from Grand Cache, so slow at times.
I heard the Pine Pass should be open to single lane alternating by the end of next week. - Damage was pretty bad, in multiple locations. When it re-opens, it'll be on unpaved stretches first, with single lane alternating one way traffic. Word I'm hearing is at least another couple weeks to get to this state.
- Looking at the Highways website...the info is not very helpful. Just closed until further notice. Nothing about a detour. Went looking and I guess no detour....

Gary Haupt - Do any of you know when the road is expected to be fixed? I was thinking of taking a loop from Jasper -> Prince George -> Dawson Creek -> Grand Prarie -> Grande Cache.
I won't be going for a couple weeks yet.
