Heading to Branson then Paducah KY from California

Posted this route a while ago and now the group is making changes. Two RVs, one 38 ft. 5er and one 34 ft Class A diesel pusher. Looking at De Lorme mapping showed one route from Tulas OK to Springdale MO on Route 412 then 62/65 through Alpena to Brandson. that route looks more direct. I'm guessing that since the mapping software didn't show it as a route that the roads/grades and not RV friendly.

Any suggestions?
  • Hwy 65 is a good road. A little curvy,but very doable.We have a 42' 5er and pulled 65 just fine.No big mountains just a few hills.
  • From I-40, we took I-49 to Fayetteville then US412 over to US65. I didn't notice any really big grades on that section of 412. It was a pretty nice ride. We split it in 2 legs, stopping at Winthrow Springs SP. The grade getting into there was steep.
  • 412 from Siloam Springs to 65 is a good road. It went through a widening and repave a couple of years ago. I travel it a couple of times a year with our 40' fifth wheel.
  • Driving up to Springfield, mo and then down 65 is a lot easier route for big rigs.
    Have a fun trip.
