- jmtandemExplorer IIProbably the easiest towing would be to take US 101 south out of Eureka to SR 20 east to IR 5 south and then east on IR 80 to Reno. If you are into scenery take SR 70 the Feather River road to US 395 just north of Reno.
- Us_out_WestExplorerCA-299 E to CA-44 E to Susanville where you pick up 395 South.
All good roads and places to stop if you want. - TravelonExplorer

Yes, 299, 44, 36, 395.......unless you want to visit Sacramento, and it's traffic. - mackie52ExplorerThanks for the info. Very helpful
- dave54Nomad299 is curvy, but good road.
Do not use 36 Eureka to Red Bluff -- narrow with very tight curves. A white knuckler if you are not real comfortable on that kind of road. 36 east from Red Bluff to Susanville is good easy drive. No fuel in Mineral.
44 Redding to Susanville good also. Fuel in Old Station if needed. No fuel between Old Station and Susanville. - BillinwoodlandExplorerA nice stop is the Eagle Lake RV park, which is just north of Susanville. Its about 40 minutes out of your way, but worth it if you need an overnight in that area. The fishing is good as well. BTW, 44 from Redding is an easier pull then 36 from Red Bluff. I was on both roads this last weekend.
