Heading to Florida Saturday on I-75

Update on Indiana to Florida trip: no problems or slow-downs thru Louisville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Atlanta (I-75 thru downtown), Macon or Jacksonville to Melbourne.

Traffic was very heavy through Georgia. Didn't need to go through Orlando.

This was last Sat, Sun and Mon.

Chattanooga is hilly, has curves to add in a downtownish environment, it can be a white knuckler as well.

I would take I 65 south to Nashville than take I 24 than pick up I 75 will save you a lot of miles plus better roads

Except for that truck you are behind.Worked every area of that place and I say stay off I-285 if you can.Why everyone is down on Atlanta is beyond me.It's not such a bugger.My wife who is 68 years young is there now at Emory to sit with a friend.She even pulls our 35 ft TT thru there.Don't think I live in a large city(not even Macon anymore) Us red neck country people drive there lots

Construction ongoing south of Atlanta. Slows traffic down quite a bit it seems, regardless of the day, or time of day. Sometimes traffic seems to stop for no apparent reason. Right around the Jackson area, as lizzie mentions.

Make sure you take the bypass (475) around Macon. Lots easier.

Good roads from Macon all the way to the Fla border. That construction is pretty much done.

If you are not in a hurry and want to avoid the interstate through GA, look at taking US27 through GA to FL. We used to live near Carrollton GA and would take this route to the gulf coast, good roads, plenty of fuel stops and practically no traffic at all.
I worked temporarily in northern Kentucky for a few years and commuted home to Carrollton GA on weekends, by the time I got to Chattanooga I was tired of I75 and all that went with it, I would get off at Resaca GA, take highway 53 (4 lanes) to Rome GA and then pickup US27, good stress free ride and no Atlanta ****.

What Part of 65 and why? We are coming from Michigan and were planning to use 65 from Indy all the way down to Montgomery AL. (then 231 and 10)

We did this same route last Feburary. It was some of the roughest stretches of interstate I have ever pulled a fifthwheel on. The potholes were BIG! I think it was Nashville that was really bad.

Go straight through Atalanta on I75 from 10AM to 2PM

I go that way 2 times a year for over the last 15 years.
