Health insurance

Would like to travel in Mexico but there is a good chance we would need to use private hospitals and/or doctors while there. I'm a retired federal employee and can choose from several carriers, including blue cross and cigna. I do understand medicare doesn't cover in Mexico. Any carriers you would recommend?

    The hospitals I went to ignored my attempts to have them telephone insurers. Universally they stated "Oh good! You have insurance! They will pay you back!"

    GEHA SAYS THEY will cover EMERGENCY Services outside U.S.A.
    I have not had to use them yet outside the country but inside the country I really like them. The coordinate with Medicare nicely leaving me zero out of pocket.
    Premium is higher than some I have the HIGH option because my wife has Brand Name drugs which are covered better in the HIGH option
