My Tundra is financed through Toyota. January 2013, prior to my 3 1/2 week trip into Mexico, I notified Toyota. They emailed me their permission, stressing that my Mexican insurance had Toyota Financial as lien holder. I was allowed 30 days in Mexico. I was never asked for these papers while in Mexico.
