Sounds like you will miss the Oregon coast. That would be a shame. Look up cannon beach. Wonderful there. Not much on i5 but it is the fast route. Also if you are going this summer you will have trouble getting reservations at the popular sites at this point. We book a year in advance. Kids would probably enjoy the enchanted parkway south of Seattle. Space needle and music/scifi museum are cool in Seattle.
