Thanks for all the great replies. Based on the advice given, I've decided to cut our trip in half and only do the Pacific Northwest. Basically my route will take us north on 5 into Medford, past Crater Lake, into Bend, along the Columbia river into Portland. From there we'll head north to Seattle. I'll try to take the ferry and explore the area around Forks. From there it will be straight down the coast, back into Oregon and Ca where we'll take 299 or 36 back to Redbluff, then home. Please share any must-do things along this route that you'd recommend. So far we plan on zip-lining, white water rafting, biking, sand dune rentals, etc.
