“Best route” has different meanings. Best route is 5, 20, 101. Best bay area route is 5, 580, 680, 780, 80 37 (a lot of traffic use Lakeville Hwy through Petaluma), 101. Best SF route (midday only) is 5, 152, 101, 280, 1 (19th Ave through SF, about 7 miles), use center or right lane), 101. No GG north bound toll. There is a view area on the north side of the GG if you can find a parking spot. I’ve taken this route many times with 42’ MH and toad. Never take 101 through SF.
