Give a nickel for a bypass around PITA Puerto Vallarta. When I get past Tecoman and blow through Cerro de Ortega I give a sigh of relief.
I remember the days of no bypasses and ZERO road signage. NONE. Wait until a long-haul truck passed then shadowed him until he made a suspicious turn off. Then wit until another DINA rolled past.
Wasn't that long ago I had to do that going through Tlaxcala.
Here's a good general question...
You roll up Mex 14-D from Lazaro to Morelia. To the periferico. Decision time. Is it faster to go left or right to get to the entronque to Mex 15-D?
Southern Mexico. Main route info, where Angeles Verdes are scarce.
I've found without question line haul bus drivers are the best source of detailed road info. Includes roadside comedores and hotels. I'll have a cold can of Coca Cola ready to show my appreciation.
