High price for taking an undeclared handgun to Canada

This happened last year. All told it cost them $18,940 and that didn't include their legal fees. I don't know why the barge cost so much but it apparently did? And as a note, even if you don't ha...

Can you take a handgun on an Alaskan Cruise? Most/all of the Alaskan cruise ships that I've seen have been foreign registered and must dock at a Canadian port anyway?
The only way would be the 'Felony Ferry' from Bellingham, but that's not a cruise ship.
