highway 54

It's a good road. As others have said, it's mostlly 2 lane, with some 4 lane.

Last March, I took it from Tucumcari, NM to Iola, KS on the way to Louisburg, KS.

I enjoyed the ride. We were pulling a 24 ft Koala TT at the time.

Ok thanks for the info, We're going to be doing some geocaching after leaving my
brothers memorial in Grand Junction and just wanted to collect a few more states.
Grand Junction to Pueblo to Mead to Tumcomcari maybe 4 corners then home.

We took 54 from Wichita to Tucomcari a few years ago, good road, but again some 2 lane, some 4 lane.

Just left Nogal, NM today and drove up 54 through Mead, KS. It is an ok 2 lane in places 4 lane in places, you have several towns to go through there is no construction right. It is about the only direct way to Mead. About a 4 1/2 hour drive.
