Hot Springs to Gulf Shores

We are leaving northern MO on the 18th. We will stop in Branson a few days before going to Hot Springs to spend Thanksgiving with family. My concern is a good route from there to southern Alabama. Any advice would be appreciated. We will be towing a 35ft travel trailer.

I would do 65 south out of Little Rock to I 20 east to Merridian Ms...from there take 45 south to Mobile.

If you do this beware I20 is a roller coaster ride around Jackson, MS. Very rough!!
I have taken Hwy 49 south out of Jackson to Gulfport several times. Very good divided highway. At Gulfport pick up I-10 east to hwy 59 south to Foley Ala.
  • Davion, 82 from 65 thru Greenville to Columbus is back and forth 2/4 lane .You don't need to go to Columbus to hit 45.You will hit 45 before you get to Columbus.45 is a pretty good road but a lot of 2 lane .Take I-65 at Mobile south to I-10 and on to 59 south
  • What about AR 65 south to MS Hwy 82 across MS to Columbia, then 45 south? Anyone traveled it. Appears to be 4 lane. Thx.

  • Haven't done that hwy. The one I mentioned is used by big trucks.
  • Thx for info. Are you familiar with AR 270 going east from Hot Springs to Pine Bluff? It would save us miles, but taking I 30 back up to Little Rock may be better in the end time wise.
