Everybody's different. A fair few people here (certainly not all) are retired or semi-retired and have far more time than I do to travel at a comparative snail's pace.
I limit myself to a maximum planned drive of about ten hours in a day because I've found that much more than that and I'm starting to get tired enough that my safe driving skills go down rather rapidly. That works out to no more than maybe 500 miles in my RV, depending on the route. If at all possible, I prefer to do a little less than that maximum, maybe eight hours or 400 miles, so as to have some hope of arriving at the campsite while it's still light.
I also tend to do much less setup once at the site (and tear down on the other end) than quite a few people. About all I regularly do is check and deploy the leveling ramps if needed, put out the step, and pull out and unroll my welcome/foot scrubbing mat. Sometimes but not always I might get out a chair or two and deploy the awning. I'm often rather amazed and amused watching people arrive, extend slides hither and yon, spread out a carpet, drag out all sorts of furniture and equipment, put out pink flamingos, set up a satellite dish, etc. Different strokes for different folks; nothing wrong with that sort of thing if it's what you like, but it does all take time.
Maybe you can take a couple of weekends before the long trip and try a couple of different lengths of drives to see what feels reasonable to you. Pick a state park or whatever maybe three hundred miles away and give it a whirl.
