How is Tracfone and/or Virgin Mobile internet service

Planning my June, 2013 trip to Alaska and have some connectivity questions: I have a Tracfone that I use here in the States, and was wondering if it works in Canada and on the way up through Alaska...

I have a Virgin Mobile mifi. If bought from Wal-Mart, you can get 1GB for 30 days for $20.

There is another Wal-Mart program that may be cheaper.

I also carry a T-Mobile USB that I have never activated because I have not needed it!
