The 17 (174) is 4 to 6 within Ottawa area but is mostly 2 lanes (with passing lanes here and there) once you leave Ottawa for about 100km (60 miles) until it merges back to the 417 after Hawkesbury. It's a nice drive though and it's not that much longer than the 417 the whole way.
