Hi Raymond,
171 from Lake Charles to Leesville and north is all four lane and in good condition. The section from LA - 10 into Leesville (both north and south)has just recently been resurfaced, as a matter of fact they are just finishing up on the landscaping of the median. If you are planning to use the road in the next few weeks be careful it is still considered a construction zone and the speed limit it 45 mph from LA - 10 to Leesville and they do patrol it. 171 through Leesville is a little bumpy but the speed limit is 35. In my opinion it is not that bad.
The under pass at the north end of town is in fact 13'6". A sign prior to reaching the under pass will direct all trucks to use the left lane. I have no problem with my M/H.
If you need more info let me know, Bill.
