This is the way we normally go when travelling West from Ontario. We have done it for 5 years now, but last trip a lot of the small towns had community campgrounds that were either free or only a few $$'s. One of the tourist centers gave us a list of the c.g.'s all along Hwy. 2 - that is how we found out about them.
