- jamesuExplorerWe did SR-20 last spring from Burlington to Newport and then hooked up with US-2 there and went all the way to Glacier. We have done the N. Cascades Hwy many times over the years, but never the full length to the Idaho border. I am glad we did, but probably won’t do the entire length again like that. A beautiful, remote drive all the way, but can be pretty slow going with curvy, windy roads at times on the road to Republic, through Sherman Pass, and past Kettle Falls. If you are retired and not strapped for time just like us, do it. Just don’t be in a hurry.
- TUCQUALAExplorerWA 20 doesn't go anywhere near Henry's Lake!!!!
To the OP, do you like the boonies?? How large of an RV are you in? Lots of dry Nat Forest sites along or near Hwy 20. - ScottGNomadUse extreme caution when approaching NewHalem.
It is a huge, notorious speed trap. - downtheroadExplorerHwy 20 (North Cascades Hwy) is a really nice RV drive....especially in July.
It's not a fast drive but is one with spectacular scenery.
Check out Winthrop while in route. - Gonzo42ExplorerHenry's Lake campground is decent and clean and close to West entrance to Jellystone NP.
- romoreExplorer IIIt is a good 2 lane highway, there are a couple of passes but you won't have any problem with them. Be mindful of traffic building behind you and pull over when you can safely. We have never camped along it so can't comment on that.
