I'm in the area quite frequently. Hwy 209 is a one lane in each direction highway with some traffic lights here and there with plenty of twists/turns. I've pulled a small TT from the Poconos all the way to Ellenville on 209 a few times. It's ok and can be slow going, so I'd rather pull on a larger highway.
If I were coming from Port Jervis I'd take I-84 east to the NYS Thruway and head north to New Paltz. There is a small stretch between New Paltz and Roundout Valley on Rt.44/55 through Minnewaska State Park Preserve that could be tight with a Class A. It is only about 4-5 miles, with one hairpin turn, some twists/turns but very scenic.
I was at Roundout Valley in Accord NY when it was a Jellystone CG. Now it is owned by Encore and I do not care to camp at corporate owned resorts. We now stay at Yogi Bear Jellystone at Lazy River which is about 6 miles outside of New Paltz. This is a privately owned CG with the owners living in the CG. This CG is absolutely immaculate. Any problems the owner is right there to correct the situation.
