Hwy 27 from Rome to Chattanoga

North of Rome US-27 goes over a couple of ridges, really no big deal. Farther north it gets real slow'n'go; I too would pick up I-75 near Calhoun.

Most all of it is 4 lanes. How ever the area through Summerville and Trion is slow with lots of lights, no bypass. And north of Chickamauga National Park is 45 mph with lights to I-24 in Chattanooga. My choice is GA-53 to Calhoun, and I-75 north from there. Now if you are going to stop in the north Georgia area James H Floyd SP just south of Summerville is a nice quite place. Then take GA-151 north to Ringgold and I-75. You really don't want to take US-27 all the way into Chattanooga.
