Hwy 70 New Mexico

Are there any gas stations between Las Cruse and White Sands National Monument?

TIA
  • He is looking for info for US 70, not I-70. I-70 does not go thru NM.
  • No gas once you go past Mesa Grande Dr and you should use the Murphy's at the Rinconada exit if you want Diesel. If you can get access to White Sands Missile Range with a DOD ID card there is gas available there but it is a ways off of US 70. From San Augustine Pass east of Las Cruces to White Sands Monument you are traveling through the Missile Range and from the Monument to Alamagordo you are either passing through the missile range or Holloman AFB.
  • No. Once you leave Las Cruces the next gas is Alamogordo but it is only about 75 miles .....4 lane highway. Alamogordo has plenty of gas/diesel stations.

    Thanks!
  • If you need fuel get off at the Rinconada exit, first exit after the I-25/US 70 junction. You have about 10 more miles of town but no other stations. Las Cruces is not like most towns with stations at the edges. Go south (right) at the exit and take another right at the first light or go into Walmart's lot to access the Murphys station.

If you are coming into town from the west on I-10 get off at exit 139 and fill up at the truck stops. Those are the only easy in and out RV stations in town.

  • If you need a place to spend a night or two in Las Cruces, we snowbird at Sunny Acres RV Park most winters. Older park with mature trees and plenty of short-timer pull-thru and back-in FHU sites. Has great restroom-shower-laundry building and fast enough WiFi that my wife streams her TV programs. It is located one block south of US 70 on Valley, so very convenient if you are going west to east through town to White Sands. There is also a very convenient, reasonably priced propane distributor on the north side of 70 about 4 blocks west of the RV park.

Found this one by accident when Granddaughter was getting married, blocks from her church. Nice place been back since.
