Hwy 89 Page Az Flooding

Anyone know recent info on the flooding on 8/3/2013 on 89 near Page, Arizona. I found a video of it but no info where the flooding is or if there will be lingering road issues near Page. This is not the earlier road collapse south of Page on 89.

Apparently, the flooding has not damaged the road. I looked first at the Az DOT sites (nothing mentioned)and then posted on this forum. We have a trip planned early next month and already the 89A south closing (collapse) will cause a change in plans. We probably won't travel to the North Rim while staying in Page. Then someone on here placed a link to a video of the recent flooding so wanted to know if we need to change plans again. Fellow RVers usually have a better idea of these type situations and possible impact. Thanks,
89A was not closed due to land slide. US89 due south from Page was where the land slide happened. North rim GC is still accessible via 89A via Kanab/Fredonia/Jacob Lake.

  • Looks like going to North Rim via Kanab (from Page) only adds 30 miles to the drive.

When they open N20 (89T) next month you could go to NR via that detour, though I suspect it has the same extra driving as the Kanab route.

    azdailysun news report
The Honey Draw area of Haul Road was overtopped with mud, as was Highway 98 to the south, Diak said. Traffic was being turned back on Haul Road just east of Walmart, with damage possibly heaviest near the Lake Powell WaterWorld store, he said

So it's the business area south of town that was affected, not the highway heading west over the dam, or 98 heading east.
