Looks like BC has a travel advisory now and is taking people through with pilot cars. The fire's growing.

These closures don't usually last long and are easy to avoid by just staying put where you are one more night.

Alaska Hwy is now open with traffic following pilot cars, as of 04:45 this morning.

Alaska Highway is closed in both directions near Fort St. John.

No detour in effect.

But, when going north on Hwy 97, you could take a left turn at Prince George and take the Cassiar Highway. Nicer scenery up there anyways.

All of AB is under a fire ban and ATV use is discouraged.
