We pulled to Utah in 2014 and took Scenic 95 from Blanding to Hanksville, headed to Capital Reef NP from Monument Valley. Highway 95 is 144 miles between service stations.
I did a lot of research before we went and knew about this, so we drove 5 miles out of our way to Blanding to gas up before heading down that road. Gorgeous scenery but I don't think we saw 4 vehicles in that whole stretch.
It really pays to do some research on the long trips.
