I-10 closed from Lordsburg to AZ border

Blowing Dust has closed I-10 in AZ and NM.

They are putting vehicles off onto US70 and US 191. Expect 2 hours or more delay.

I went through this a few weeks ago returning from Tucson.

There is also a high wind advisory for high profile vehicles.
  • ALSO: I-40 in NM is experiencing snow flurries, ice/rain mix around Gallup and Grants.

Not a good day for the interstates unless you are going south on I-25. You should be getting a tail wind southbound :)
  • Going from Farmington to Albuquerque I once had a tail where the sand was moving faster than I was at 45mph. Actually got better fuel mileage pulling a 30' TT than I averaged empty! We got to Albuquerque and my wife saw the KOA sign where I said we were spending the night. She said, "thought we were going to stay there." I simply said, "I'm not getting out in this sand storm. Once we cross the ridgeline, at least the sand will be gone." Should have stopped and dealt with the sand as we didn't stop until 11pm near White Sands.
  • Not much better south on I=25 near Truth or Consequences. Gusts upwards of 45 MPH.

  • I-10 reopened but still has a high wind advisory.

I hate it when the tumbleweeds are making better time than I am.
