I-4 in Orlando

Coming from North (Daytona) how is traffic along the I-4 corridor going and coming from Disney

  • Thanks everyone, any idea on tolls with 2 axles and 4 axles. again Thanks..
  • As stated above, take 417 instead. I use 417 every day going to work instead of I-4. You won't regret it.
  • Never-Never-Never during the AM rush hours (7-10 AM) heading West (which is really South, but that is another story).

There are two different construction projects which, between them, cover almost the entire length from I-95 to WDW.

417 is tolled all the way around, but probably worth it if you do not need to get off in town (as we do).

Last trip I used I-95 South to State Road 50 and then came inland. You could go South on I-95 to SR-528 (The Beach Line Expressway) and then come all the way West to I-4 just South of Sea World. That puts you South of the construction and almost at the Disney exits.
  • Orlando is the Atlanta of Florida when it comes to traffic! Take the 417 bypass a little longer and more expensive but in an RV potentially much easier on your brakes and nerves.

That would be just a little out of the way coming from Daytona like the OP.:E
  • It depends when you hit it and if there is a wreck. There is rush hour stop and go every day. Weekends are better BUT if there is an event like a football game, all bets are off.

    Mid day is probably best.

Also there is a multi billion construction event going on with major closures and rolling road blocks at night.

There is a bypass the 417, longer and not cheap but probably worth it.

You could also come down I75 to the Fl turnpike to Disney.
