That is old US 90 which they are S L O W L Y converting to I 49 unless I am mistaken.
It has been nicer (last Fall) than I10.
While in Lafayette make sure you stop in at Randols Restaurant for good food and live Cajun music. If you can Waltz and 2 step you are good to go.
