I-5 or Rt. 99
We will be traveling north thru central Calif. early in Dec. We will be driving a motorhome and pulling a car. Which road is in better condition, I-5 or Rt. 99. Thanks

SR 99 has more places to stop, more towns, and is a little more interesting between Bakersfield and Stockton. Both will have heavy truck traffic. North of Stockton IR 5 is probably an easier way to get through the Sacramento traffic. If you travel SR 99 to Stockton there is the very easy to use Crosstown freeway connector to IR 5. Or take Eight mile road from SR 99 to IR 5. Very easy to connect.
