When can we expect an ice free run South from Washington to SOCAL after winter? Thinking mid-March / early April. We will need some sun by then...... thinking Palm Springs.

Storms/snow/freezing rain create some ice, but all the big trucks, and the climate, mean it usually only lasts a few days. Weeks, sometimes, but this year is forecasted to be a warm winter in the PNW. - Ya never know. The road should be bare and dry, but you could get an ugly spring storm
The ski area at Mt Ashland is usually open until mid April - Let us know when you have the date exactly accurate.. We will join you along the route.
