I 65

I did that 2 weeks ago and I didn't think it was bumpy. I did take US31 from Indianapolis since I was going to Holland, MI and live 1/2 block off of US31. I have no knowledge from Indianapolis North on I-65.

Too many variables. Length of rig, weight distribution, air pressure, speed, etc. etc. I don't find too many roads bumpy...YMMV....Dennis

Michigan is well-know for the poor quality of its roads. I have not travelled it recently, but I-65 from Birmingham all the way up used to be and excellent road.

BTW, I-65 terminates in Indiana, right before it runs into Lake Michigan. I hope you are going to the state of Michigan. Depending on where you are going, you might consider US 31 or I-69 north of Indianapolis.

I-65 is extremely rough from just South of Birmingham to the I-20/59 interchange, then smooths out nicely. This is only a 20 mile stretch, so best just to tolerate it. No good bypass for this section.

I WILL NOT drive ANY stretch of I-65 in Indiana. Towing, I've be beaten to death one too many times! Simple and plain!

We just took 65 from Nashville up to Louisville on Tue and I saw nothing wrong with it. Like Dennis said, it would depend on what you drive and how fast you go.

Just drove that route southbound 3 weeks ago. Was quite a bit of rough road in Indiana. Also bridge over the Ohio river is out in Louisville KY and the detour is a mess.

You think the bridge in Louisville, KY are a mess (which they are) stay away Saturday 4/23 for sure. They actually shut down I-65 at 9:30 pm and set off the largest fireworks show in North American. It would be a good idea to stay away all day truthfully they have an air show also. Plus the Kennedy bridge is closed for repairs (the new bridge is open) and they shut down the Clark Memorial Bridge because they use it and 2 barges to shoot off the fireworks.

I'm happy we will be taking the motorhome and have a spot right under the big clock on the Indiana side. We don't live very far away so we can wait out the traffic. My dogs at home are going to hate me but I can't take them. Welcome to Derby Week it will be nuts around here until after the race. Around here we party for 3 weeks over a 2 minute horse race, it is kind of fun. Google Thunder Over Louisville, WDRB will show online.
