Has anyone experienced the "toll road" part of I-70? It appears that towing of any trailer would not be included in the toll road portion of I-70. Does that sound right? Hate to assume. Thanks
As noted above, there are no tolls on I-70 itself.
There are tolls on E-470, which is the toll beltway around the east side of the Denver Metro area. 47 miles long, there are 5 toll stations (license plate/ExpressToll readers). Charge is per axle. Standard charge for 2 axles, each additional axle incurs an additional charge. It can get very expensive going all the way around. The rate is $3.55 for 2 axle vehicles, and an additional $3.55 per axle.
Actually, there is the toll section on I70 eastbound near Idaho Springs but is only a single lane Express Toll option and you do not have to take it. There are two other lanes that run next to that section that are not toll.
But again, there are NO TOLLS on I-70.
Thanks for all the answers. RedRocket, this is what I read also. I just wanted to make sure that it is an option whether one wants to use the toll part or not. I also believe from that the Colorado Highway Dept. said no trailers, so I would be inclined to believe that all trailers including RV's were included. Again Thanks to all.............
