My choice too but, it depends. You've received a lot of desirable routes (US 36 especially) but it depends upon your comfort level with traffic, two lane roads, frequent small towns, interstates, etc. We just recently crossed the same route you are asking about by using US 36 west from St. Joe, north on US 77 to I-80 onto Cheyenne. Some construction but, nothing that didn't allow traffic to flow smoothly. US 36 is a lovely route that we have used many times but, if I want to make time and simply set the cruise and go, I-80 is our choice. The preferred speed traveling and possible stops along the way would be the deciding factor in our case.
